Tis the season to be safe!
Tis the season to be safe! It’s easy for pets to get into trouble during the holidays. Look at all the fun stuff we provide for their curiosity. Gifts, decorations and holiday foods pose dangers for all pets. Be aware of the extra hazards around the holidays. Cats love to play with ribbons and tinsel! If ingested they can sometimes act as foreign bodies causing intestinal blockages. Make sure that your pets are protected from all the festivities this holiday season.

ODU Mascot, BIG BLUE, makes finals in mascot contest!
Old Dominion University's mascot, Big Blue, has one more man to beat in his quest to become America's favorite mascot. Big Blue is in the finals of a national mascot of the year competition and is up against Paydirt Pete from the University of Texas at El Paso.
"Not only is it pride of Big Blue, it's getting ourselves on the map. We have a very successful athletic department, national championships. This is just another opportunity for us to get out there in the public and across the nation," said David Weisser with ODU.
Last week, ODU was in the final four and knocked off the Oregon Duck.
The method to the Monarch madness is to vote early and vote often.
"Me and my friends - we got like 20 people together, and we all stayed up all night just voting, voting, voting. We had like seven laptops set up," said ODU student Tristan Walks.
