Featured Pet: Maya

Our featured pet today is Maya Craig.  Maya is the canine child of Samantha Craig, one of our LVT’s.  She is a 4 ½ year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi who is being treated with acupuncture to help with her arthritis and some behavioral issues.  She is responding excellently!  Her treatments have even helped her to remain calm during thunderstorms, which was very hard for Maya for several years.  Way to go, Maya!

Accupuncture

There is a belief in ancient Chinese medicine that disease results from the energy in the body being out of balance.  When certain points on the body (called acu points) are stimulated, it is believed that the body's energy may be balanced, and the body can then begin to heal itself.  Acupuncture can increase blood circulation, relieve muscle spasms, stimulate nerves, and release hormones to help relieve pain and promote natural healing.  It can also be used to help ease anxiety.  The acupuncturist treats not only the symptoms but the source of the problems to restore the health and balance in the body.   For more information on our acupuncture services, visit our website at www.pembrokevetclinic.com.
